​What does American U-Prep do?
American U-Prep is a boutique educational consulting firm that helps international students identify, prepare for, and apply to US universities. We have offices in Sofia, Bulgaria and Istanbul, Turkey. But through our remote model, we are comfortable working with students anywhere! We work for our students through all four years of their high school careers. We serve our students as mentors, teachers, consultants and much more.

What makes American U-Prep unique?
We are an all-American team living and working in Sofia, Bulgaria. And have staff in the US. Most international educational consulting companies do not have their students working directly with an American team. As Americans, we understand the culture and the university system in a way that others can not. We know the cultural and educational dynamics that your student faces because we live it every day!

Why does my student need a personal admissions consultant?
Studies show that students receive only a handful of hours of personal advising on university admissions during their entire high school career. This problem is compounded when the student is applying to a school overseas to a place they may have never visited before. Admissions to top schools and scholarships programs are highly competitive. We believe that personalized one-on-one admissions consulting is a necessity when it comes to obtaining university acceptance. Unlike many high school counselors, we have the capacity to work with our students extensively. This means we provide our services for all four years of our student's high school career, meeting with them regularly as often as the student needs. 

Can you work with students on nights and weekends?
Yes. We understand that students are in school during the day, so sometimes evenings are the only time they have available. Additionally, we will always make ourselves available on weekends when deadlines require it!

When do you start working with students?

We strongly urge parents to consider our admissions services as a long-term educational and career investment in their children. Is American U-Prep only for students that want to attend Ivy League schools?
No. We have students applying to all different types of schools. The schools the students apply for are based on a number of factors including, their interests, academic strength, and financial needs. We invest extensively in getting to know our students through 1:1 consultations, personality tests, and more. This allows us to identify the best university that fits each specific student.
